Online Honor Roll
2008 Honor Roll
The 2008 fiscal year was a very successful fundraising year for the University of Pittsburgh. We recorded our best fundraising year ever, raising $183 million in gifts and pledges, $64 million more than in FY 2007. Included in that overall total were record-setting gifts and pledges of $84.9 million from individuals and $72.1 million from foundations. This has brought total commitments to our Building Our Future Together capital campaign goal to $1.295 billion.
None of this success would have been possible without the tremendous support from our loyal donors. In FY 2008, 50,213 donors made philanthropic contributions to the University of Pittsburgh —a record number. Many of these donors are featured in this online publication, our annual Honor Roll of Donors.
The 2008 Honor Roll of Donors consists of donors who have made a gift at the Chancellor's Circle level ($1,000 or more) to the University of Pittsburgh in fiscal year 2008 (July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008).
Also included in this list are young alumni donors who made a gift of $500 or more to the University of Pittsburgh as members of the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Circle, as well as 1787 Society members—those donors who have made a planned or deferred gift to the University through a bequest, annuity, trust, life insurance policy, or other planned or deferred gift opportunity.
As we begin a new fundraising year, I am certain that with the generosity of people like you, we will continue to celebrate record-breaking milestones as we work toward our goal of raising $2 billion to support the efforts of Pitt students, faculty, and staff.
Hail to Pitt!
