Chancellor’s Circle Celebration

Three hours prior to the October 10th, Pitt vs. University of Connecticut football game at Heinz Field, over 700 guests gathered for the 2009 Chancellor’s Circle Celebration. With a reputation of being an enjoyable event, this year the celebration that honors Chancellor’s Circle and GOLD Circle society members, sold out.

Laughter was heard under the tent as donors were treated to a full buffet, entertained by the Pitt Cheerleaders and Pitt Panther, and children of all ages were provided with face painting. The donors also had an opportunity to meet with Pitt student-athletes and mingle with Chancellor Mark Nordernberg.  Chancellor Nordenberg shared an important message about the remarkable progress being made by the University of Pittsburgh. The celebration ended with a bang as the Panthers achieved their biggest comeback in five seasons, rallying back from Connecticut’s 15-0 lead, to win the game with a final score of 24-21.

The Chancellor’s Circle is an annual leadership giving society for alumni and friends who make gifts totaling $1,000 or more during the past fiscal year. The GOLD Circle (Graduates Of the Last Decade) is a giving society made up of our younger alumni who made gifts of $500 or more during the past fiscal year.
