Henry John Heinz, the founder of the H.J. Heinz Company, and his children made possible the construction of an interdenominational chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus through their generous philanthropy.
For nearly 80 years, the Chapel has served as a venue for religious and memorial services, weddings, concerts, and other gatherings--opening its doors to more than 100,000 visitors annually.
In order to preserve this remarkable architectural treasure, the University of Pittsburgh is undertaking a campaign to establish a building endowment to ensure that the Chapel serve the University and Pittsburgh communities for many years to come.
Reflection Garden and Other Naming Recognition Opportunities
Plans are underway to install a reflection garden on the lawn of the Heinz Chapel. The garden will enhance the Chapel and its creation will provide exciting new naming opportunities for those donors who wish to support the Heinz Chapel campaign. LEARN MORE
