Play a Part

The University of Pittsburgh relies on annual support from alumni, friends, parents, and faculty and staff to provide critical funding to schools and special initiatives across the University. Donor's gift intentions are very important to the Pitt Annual Fund. Donors can choose to support a department or cause that is close to their heart, or provide unrestricted dollars to support the daily needs of the University of Pittsburgh and its students.
And annual gifts add up – in just the last year, the University of Pittsburgh has received more than $16 million in annual gifts which provided much-needed support to Pitt’s 16 schools and colleges.
Learn how you can play a part in shaping the future of the University of Pittsburgh through the Pitt Annual Fund.
Alumni and Friends
Support from alumni and friends is one reason why Pitt is experiencing a time of great progress. As state and national funding dwindle, private assistance is ensuring that the University continues to provide the best education for students and embarks on innovative research.
Support at the annual level is crucial to many areas in the University. Since many giving options offer unrestricted support, funds are available when needs arise throughout the year. You can also contribute to special initiatives the University is pursuing.

Faculty and Staff
Major accomplishments are occurring at Pitt every day. Without our faculty and staff members support, many of these achievements would not be possible.
Support comes in many ways, whether it is in the classroom, the research centers, or behind the scenes. For many Pitt employees, it also comes by giving through the Pitt Annual Fund.
Every year, faculty and staff members receive contact from the Pitt Annual Fund or take part in an internal campaign to further support the University. Every gift, no matter the size, is a show of confidence in the mission of the University and the work that we do.
Please consider joining with your colleagues to support Pitt. Employees have the option to have their gift automatically deducted from their paycheck. If your department is interested in starting an internal campaign, please contact the Pitt Annual Fund.
Parents
As a Pitt parent, you continue to find ways to support your child as they reach for their dreams. You might send care packages, wash laundry, and even provide guidance during tough times.
The Pitt Annual Fund is another way to help your child. Each year, the Pitt Annual Fund contacts parents to let them know the news on campus and asks them to consider making a gift to the University of Pittsburgh. Every gift, no matter the size, helps improve the overall quality of your child’s education and their experience as a whole.
Whether it’s helping to provide cultural events through the Pitt Arts Program, giving an academic or social group a boost, or assisting the everyday functions of your child’s field of study, your gift is just another way of saying “I’m there for you.”
Recent Graduates
Your time as a Pitt student may be complete, but you can still be involved with the University. Cheer on the Panthers, stay in touch with your school or college, and consider making a gift with Pitt.
Yes, that’s correct, we’re asking you for a gift. No, we’re not asking for a lot of money, just that you give. Why? Because every gift is the chance to pass on the great education and experiences you received. Tuition can only provide for a part of a Pitt student’s education, so our alumni really help fill in the gap with their support. Besides, they were supporting you when you were in school, why not continue the tradition?
There are many places you can give. You might want to consider an Alumni Association membership that will keep you posted on the latest campus news and provide discounts to many different places. There’s also the chance to give to your school, department, or a program you were involved in. Whatever you choose, you’re helping make Pitt a better place for future alum.
